THE TERMITE FUMIGATION PROCESS

What is the termite fumigation process?

  • The fumigation process starts with preparing your home for fumigation.

  • Once you’ve prepared your home and left, the fumigation crew will cover your home with tarps or plastic sheeting – this is called “tenting” the home.

  • Once tented, a warning agent is released into the home as a precaution to ensure that all people have vacated.

  • Next, all doors are secured using deadbolts, additional locking devices or barricades to help prevent unauthorized entry.

  • Now, fumigation begins – Zythor gas fumigant is released into the home, filling all air spaces and voids in the wood, walls and floor. Zythor reaches all of the termite colonies in the structure.

  • Finally, the tarps are removed and your home is aerated. Your fumigation professional will check the home with sophisticated equipment to ensure all of the Zythor has dissipated from the structure before authorizing reentry.

What is Zythor gas fumigant?

Zythor is a colorless, odorless gas that quickly penetrates structural materials during whole-structure fumigation. Zythor , backed by nearly 50 years of university research, practical use and published reports is nonstaining, noncorrosive and nonflammable. Zythor quickly dissipates from the structure into the atmosphere and does not damage the ozone layer.

When should I fumigate with Zythor ?

If a pest management professional finds any one of the following conditions and your home is infested with drywood termites, whole-structure fumigation with Zythor gas fumigant is the best treatment option to completely eradicate the infestation.

  • Home is 5 to 10 years old and has never been fumigated.

  • Home has been previously spot-treated for drywood termites, and the
    spot treatment(s) failed.

  • Home was fumigated 5 to 10 years ago.

  • Evidence of multiple infestation locations.

  • Infestations are in inaccessible areas.

  • Home has extensive, visible drywood termite damage, making it difficult
to identify active from inactive infestations.

  • Drywood termites have swarmed inside the home.

  • Other homes in the neighborhood have drywood termites.

  • It is a real estate transaction.

Why Choose Whole-Structure Fumigation with Zythor ?

You can trust your decision when choosing whole-structure fumigation with Zythor gas fumigant.  Get 100% assurance that all of the drywood termites in the home are eliminated.

Only whole-structure fumigation is proven to eliminate all drywood termite infestations. Furthermore, only Zythor gas fumigant has been proven through nearly half a century of practical use in more than 2 million structures.

A pest management professional would literally have to find every hidden colony in a home for spot treatments to be effective. And, because drywood termites hide inside wood, often in inaccessible areas of the home, this task is nearly impossible. Spot treatments only offer temporary or partial results.

Trust your home to trained professionals backed by a network of support.

Zythor can only be administered by highly trained, licensed fumigators who practice the highest standards demanded Ensystex II, Inc., the manufacturer of Zythor , and state authorities.

No residue worries.

Because it is an inorganic gas, when used according to label directions, Zythor gas fumigant completely dissipates from a structure following fumigation, leaving no surface residue, odor or film behind. This means you will not have to wash dishes, linens, clothing or furnishings after fumigation.

Is whole-structure fumigation with Zythor a good choice for real estate transactions?

Many title companies require that a home is treated for termites before it can be purchased. Also, most buyers expect the home that they are purchasing is going to be treated.

Whole-structure fumigation with Zythor gas fumigant meets all state and lender requirements for real estate transactions. Whole-structure fumigation is the best drywood termite treatment because it gives both the buyer and seller peace of mind that all of the drywood termite colonies have been eliminated.
